Electronic Treadle
The electronic treadle, can detect when a train stops
so that, for example, routes and level crossing barriers can
be released, it is also a superior replacement to a mecanical
treadle. The only moving part of the treadle is a relay
in the evaluation unit.
If the dynamic wheel
pressure exceeds a preset level, a change-over relay will be
energized for 5 seconds.
The evaluation unit has fixed
settings for different types of rails. No calibration is
needed on installation. The tradle consists of a sensor
bolted to one of the rails and an evaluation unit with a DSP
processor and other electronics installed alongside the track.
Other functions for example axle counter are possible by
modifying the software.

The relay unit uses the
same type of sensor as the weighing system, and a processor
analyzes the signal from the sensors and compares it to a
preset level.
